Tony Humphreys
Managing from Inside Out — The Path to Mature Management

 

Tony Humphreys is a renowned expert on the psychology of leadership and work life. A consultant clinical psychologist and best-selling author, he focuses on how our sense of self affects our job satisfaction, productivity and life-work balance. In his latest book, Tony Humphreys shows how a manager who possesses a deep understanding of human behaviour is in a powerful position to enhance relationships with employees, and increase their motivation and commitment to work.

The author of eleven best-selling books in 27 countries and fourteen languages, Tony has become an influential psychologist, working with businesses, individuals, families, and local communities. He is regularly sought for his expertise and views on radio and television and writes a weekly column for one of Ireland’s primary newspapers, the Irish Examiner.

Tony is a specialist lecturer on education, communication and self-realisation in University College, Cork and National College of Ireland and regularly guest lectures at other colleges in Ireland, Europe and South Africa. He is the director of a year-long course on Interpersonal Communication at University College, Cork and National College of Ireland, a two year diploma in Parent Mentoring and a two year Higher Diploma in Relationship Studies. He is also a Fellow of the National College of Ireland.

The opening keynote session will examine the world at work from new, interesting perspectives — and set the tone for a productive and engaging educational programme.

Amin Rajan

 


Amin Rajan is the CEO of the Centre for Research in Employment and Technology in Europe (CREATE), a pan-European network of researchers undertaking special research and consultancy assignments for European governments, multinational companies, major global financial institutions and international bodies such as the EU, OECD and ILO. He is also visiting professor at the University Business School and London Guildhall University.

Having done extensive research involving a number of today’s outstanding business leaders Amin uses his experience to coach decision makers and offer essential advise on leadership and emerging business strategies.

Amin was formerly an economic advisor at the National Economic Development Office, Cabinet Office and HM Treasury. He has also carried out numerous studies for the UK Government and international bodies, and acted as a consultant to companies such as BP, British Telecom, IBM, ICL, Legal & General, Motorola, Merrill Lynch, National Westminster Bank, Fiat, Rolls Royce, SunAlliance and Shell.
As well as appearing on radio and television, he contributes feature articles to The Financial Times, The Guardian and The Sunday Times. He has published many books and articles on socio-economic forecasting, global developments, employment trends, new technologies, training and most recently global investment management in the 2000’s.

Amin has presented the results of his work at over 100 major events in the USA, UK and continental Europe in the last five years. In 1998, he was awarded the Aspen Institute’s Scholarship in Leadership. He currently holds board level positions in many organisations in both the private and public sector.

The closing session will bring many of the threads of the conference together and place them in the wider context of business and economic trends.
